Colorado Fly Fishing and Trout Fishing Trips - Arkansas River
Overview2008 Hiking Trips at a Glance2008 Rafting Trips at a Glance

Your Colorado fly fishing adventure awaits you on the Browns Canyon section of the Arkansas River!

The upper Arkansas River is one of the finest fisheries in Colorado, with an abundance of Brown and Rainbow Trout. This high elevation river with crystal clear, cold water provides the perfect environment for Colorado fly fishing and spin-casting enthusiasts. The ideal time for fishing the headwaters of the Arkansas River is late July and August when the river clears up from the spring runoff, and the fish are ready to attack your dry flies. Droppers and spinners also work well on this section. The success rate on the Arkansas River is incredibly high, and the action is usually very steady throughout Browns Canyon.

Why fish from the side of a highway when you can float through the pristine river canyons of central Colorado? The advantage of fishing from a raft is that you have the ability to make ideal drifts into endless eddies along the canyon corridor. Between casts you can enjoy the beauty of floating through the wilderness study area in Browns Canyon, as well as braving some fun rapids.

  • Our experienced guides are committed to sharing with you their secret hot spots for prime Brown and Rainbow trout fishing
  • Camp on our riverside campground the night before or after your fishing adventure
  • Our after-hours fishing permit and premier private put-in allow us to fish during less busy times on the Arkansas River, maximizing your chances to land the big one!
  • Only 2 fishing guests per raft!
